Cet appartement est tout simplement magnifique. Nous louons régulièrement des appartements en Europe et celui-ci a été notre coup de cœur.

La description de l’appartement et les photos décrivent très bien l’appartement qui était très propre et très bien équipé. La piscine et le jardin offre un espace supplémentaire pour se détendre et profiter de l’extérieur en toute quiétude.

L’appartement est très bien situé puisqu’il se situe à proximité de plusieurs restaurants, cafés, magasins et jardins. Nous avons adoré sortir tous les soirs sans devoir prendre la voiture.

L’accueil est chaleureux, les propriétaires parlent très bien français et sont faciles à rejoindre.
Nous recommandons cet appartement sans hésitation.

ha sido una estancia muy agradable y muy confortable, estaba todo super cuidado y de una belleza muy exclusiva, el lugar donde está situado es muy céntrico y muy accesible a todas partes, como tiene parking privado, no te tienes que preocupar de no encontrar aparcamiento, el jardin y la piscina es precioso, yo estoy completamente segura que volveré a repetir, y espero y deseo que no sea muy tarde, este invierno iremos al piso de arriba, que es espectacular y muy acogedor. Estoy deseando volver al mismo sitio de vacaciones. Le doy la máxima puntuación 100 estrellas. Gracias por todo.

I thoroughly recommend this apartment, it is one of the best, if not the best place I have ever stayed at. It is an old building in the heart of the old city near the cathedral renovated to the highest specification with a modern clean interior. All the fixtures and fittings are top specification, the apartment is roomy and comfortable and the kitchen facilities top class. It has a very good Hi Fi and TV but why stay indoors when the garden and the plunge pool are so enticing.

The reception was really friendly and informative and the location is where you want to be right in the middle of the old quarter of the city. Parking for one is available or there is parking in the plaza about 20 metres away.

Girona and the surrounding country is fantastic. I recommend you visit and, if you do, you should stay in this apartment.

A lovely apartment refurbished to a very high standard. Very clean and well-equipped. We were provided with good pre-arrival information and excellent service on arrival and during our stay. The owner speaks very good English.
We particularly loved the plunge pool and the location in the Old Town close to the city walls which are amazing to walk along. The are lots of tapas bars and restaurants within easy walking distance and walking to the rail and bus station only took about 20 minutes (we used buses and trains to get about in Spain - very efficient).
Although the area is generally very quiet, the apartment is close to the cathedral with it's regular bell ringing, the sound of people talking in the street below drifts up, and we suffered a noisy (British) party in the apartment above one night, but otherwise could barely notice upstairs occupants.
We would certainly recommend this property to friends and family, and stay there again if we visit Girona in future.

WHY VISIT GIRONA

Girona is a charming small city located 100 km North of Barcelona and 100 km South of Perpignan (France).

It is one of the richest cities in Spain. Girona has his own International Airport offering regular flights to more than 50 cities around Europe. By the end of 2012 Girona will be a stop of the high-speed train that is to link Barcelona and Paris.

Things to do in the city

Girona has one of the most important mediaeval quarters in Spain, plenty of interesting historical buildings, one of the best-preserved old Jewish quarters in Europe and a magnificent Cathedral featuring the widest Gothic nave in the world with a breadth of 22 meters.

The city also offers a vibrant shopping district with a combination of traditional goods and renowed international brands. The walking areas include plenty of cozy coffees and restaurants that offer a variety of culinary experiences.

Girona is also well known for its cultural life. As well as a number of museums, the city has the most important autumn festival in Spain, “Temporada Alta”, offering three months of avant-garde international music, dance and theater. In addition, several jazz, classical, rock, flamenco, traditional or world music concerts are programmed during all the year.

Furthermore, the relatively small size of the city and its urban structure means all these activities can be enjoyed without having to take the car.

Things to do in the surroundings

Girona is well known to professional and amateur golfers. Only 22 kilometres from the city is the PGA Catalunya Resort, which since its opening in 1999 has quickly gained an impeccable international reputation and is currently ranked 2nd in Spain, 3rd in continental Europe and, most recently, among the 100 best golf courses in the world. As well, there are a further eight high-quality 18-hole golf courses available less than one hour's drive from the property.

Girona is also a world famous destination for professional and amateur cyclists. Lance Armstrong lived and trained in Girona while winnig seven consecutive “Tour de France”, and his key domestique Jorge Hincapié, also a former US champion, has been a distinguished guest of our property.

Only a few minutes from Alemanys 5 there is also a vast forest with hundreds of signposted off-road mountain-bike routes which can take you all the way to the coast.

Less than one hour's drive from the house you can reach the famous Costa Brava coastal region, with plenty of beaches and sailing ports, still offering some "hidden gems" for visitors who seek them out. Small villages like Cadaqués, Begur or LLafranc have attracted artists such as Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró or Pablo Picasso and still inspire many contemporary artists.

Between Girona and the Costa Brava is the Empordà, a region of countryside, with plenty of small charming medieval villages, as well as wheat and sunflower fields that bloom with poppies in spring, creating one of the most beautiful landscapes of Spain.

Girona is also a renowned culinary destination. Home of exquisite “sea and mountain mixed” recipes, the city hosts “El Celler de Can Roca” ranked second best restaurant in the world. Three other 3-Star Michelin restaurants like the world famous “El Bulli”, “El Racó de Can Fabes” and “Santa Pau” are less than one hour's drive from the property.

During wintertime, a good option is to take advantage of the Pyrenees ski resorts that can be reached by car in less than two hours. The Girona area is also renowed as a wellness and spa destination, offering top quality thermal baths, spa and wellness centres.

Last but not least, the city of Barcelona is only at one-hour by road or train from Girona.
